RuleDesigner Design to Cost

In the initial phase it is possible to choose whether to create a new quotation or uploading an existing one for editing or using as a template.

First of all, there is the definition of BOM for the part-number quotation by adding, delating or importing links from different sources (including excel, text or CAD files) and in different formats ( parent part-number, child part-number or based on the level).

The ties are represented in two ways:

• Tree structure as first level bonds added with quantity part-number
• Tabular representation with description, unit costs, quantity, type of assemblies

If in the BOM there are already quoted part-numbers, with RuleDesigner DesigntoCost, the related cost fields are already promoted by the re-estimation of the costs based on the quantity.

It is possible to define the list of properties for each element and receive the relative estimation. Possibility to retrieve existing information automatically by uploading the relative CAD file. The automatic generation of  technological part-number allows to group the elements characterized by the same technology.

Management of the information related to workflow cycle focusing on: work center, type of processing and parameters. Functions for extracting data from database with tabular summary of operations that are closer to the required parameters. Retrieve of the processing type and of the machine placement necessary to realize it.

Definition of coating types to be applied with the possibility of automatically get the physical properties already specified in the estimation configuration phase.

In the last phase, RuleDesigner provides a quote proposal that can be set as “make” mode, for the in-house production, or as a “buy” mode to evaluate the cost in outsourcing with different possible vendors and countries. The estimation of the report contains all the detailed information of the machine placement such as processing, treatments, raw materials, materials, unit cost and amortization curve  as the quantity increases. The estimation chosen will be used to enhanced the cost in the BOM.

By modifying the quantity and assembly, on each individual element, RuleDesigner automatically recalculates the new unit cost, the assembly time cost and the total on the new production batch.
