In this specific case, the process was organized in different phases, spanning from the definition of the product data to data of floors, bannisters and single steps.
Then user starts collecting data relating to the customer’s staircase on which the stair-lift chairs must be positioned.
Then, the user defines the floors and then the bannister down to detailed measures of both the riser and stair treads.
Based on the data entered by the user, and the regulatory constraints of minimum and maximum height wired in the system of rules, the Configurator determines the bannister right angle of descent and produces the 3D model of:
the staircase, the steering drive (the latter is the configurable part of the product); the machine for each stop, calculating the overall dimensions/encumbrance of the machine, too.
On the basis of the generated product BOM, it is possible to obtain the quotation of the configured solution.
